L is for Lessons

A large part of belly dance is motivated by the individual.  Thee is nothing quite like attending belly dance lessons & discovering that you can already 'do' some of the movements.  Learning can be an exciting journey ... first the iconic basics ... then gaining confidence & learning more; the dance; a variety of styles;  performing; the history; costuming & the fun of dancing with like-minded friends.  Nothing can replace "live" sessions for learning, practice & improving.  But if you would like online video suggestions too, ckeck out the options at http://belly-dancing-lessons.com .  Be aware that teachers vary in quality; you are the best expert for your body.  Approach with caution any move you have not learnt 'in the flesh', online lessons can be a splendid reminder.
