P is for Percussive

Percussive is the word used to mean a crisp, clean action or movement - frequently 'a strike' on a drum or similar.

P is for percussive hips

Start in default position, ribs lifted away from hip bones so you can isolate the movement to hips only.  Then clench one buttock, crisp movement with no reverb through to the opposite side; relax; clench the other buttock; relax.  If you don't already use this move, put your hands on both buttocks and clench, then relax one side - you have now just identified which muscles to use!  Once you have drillled this movement into your body, clench, relax, clench, relax (repeat, repeat, repeat) - you can then 'upspeed' to double time.  Or you can play with layering stepping into the action (keep steps small and ensure the action is powered by those buttocks).  This is a crisp movement within your own bodyline - not a loose movement which travels across.

P is for Pharaonic poses

These are the dramatic poses and stylised movements inspired by Egyptian heiroglyphs.

Pops & locks

Pops are a swift, crisp lifting action, locks are a swift, precise movement & strong 'stop'.  They are both very eye-catching, but do not need to be large.  A chest pop can move as little as 2.5cm/1 inch & still be very visible.  A larger movement ceases to be a pop & becomes more of a slide!
